“Many Relaxing Stays”
5 of 5 starsReviewed yesterday NEW via mobile
This was my 4th stay with The Haven. My family members have stayed there the 3rd time with me. Everyone kept asking about a come-back, every year for a retreat.

Yes, we did it again and again! We stayed on very high floor this time, facing the middle of the lake! The hills were filled with mist early in the morning, monkeys were running up & down the little lake-hill! So beautiful a scene. So peaceful!

We had a great dinner at the Cuisines. Prices were reasonable, quality of food was good. Loved the Manager (a very friendly and service-oriented Indian man). Staff remembered us well. They were polite, though there were new faces (we went there in Nov & Dec 2015).

Would be back to Haven soon!

This is best place to be in if u want to find peace embrace scenic beauty yet enjoy to the fullest.
If u opted for this hotel u need not go anywhere jst sit by the pool nd see around yourself…hills tress rain wind lake I’ll cn be admired at the same time.
Horizon View from ur room makes u feel fresh throughtout the day.
Apartment is worth staying for..Big rooms cozy beds..kitchenette..balcony with horizon view..
Hotel wifi gves around 1Mpbs connection which is more than sufficient for youtube streaming anythng.
I needed faster internet connection for official purpose so the hotel finance team provided with separate wifi modem which gave around 30Mbps speed apt for my usage.Arranging something like this at such short notice was commendable tat too free of cost
Food Drinks prices are not hyped.
I am really thankful to the hotel staff for such an amazing experience.

There are 2 securities outposts there to safe guard the area , staffs are friendly with greeting everytime they see you. Not to say the infinity pool. It is marvellous with the scene and you can jazucci with your love one while enjoying the view. Superb I shall say. The only thing to complain is only the Wi-fi, it is merely not working. But who cares as the scenery is so damn captivating!

Room Tip: get a room which face the lake view

The Haven Residences is a perfect place to stay if you want to get away from the crowd of Ipoh town but still be close enough to get to the good food.

My friends and I booked ourselves in a 2 plus 1 bedroom suite facing the lake. OMG! The place is a gem! We had a little problem with the access card and the electricity tripped but it was all taken care of by the staff very quick and efficiently. The wifi, although they said was available and free, was on the fritz so we had to depend on our own data plan but that was fine. A minor hiccup that’s not worth mentioning.

The apartment we had faced the beautiful hills and lake and we had a great view of the swimming pool and gardens below. The place is quiet, clean and really an ideal place if you just want to relax.

There are technically 3 bedrooms in our apartment – a master with a queen size bed and an attached bathroom with a shower stall and a bathtub; a medium-sized room with a double bed and a smaller room with a sofa bed. Both these room share a common bathroom.

Although there were only three of us, the apartment could comfortably sleep 4 to 5 people.

There is a kitchen stocked with the necessary plates, cups and glasses. There’s a microwave, a fridge and a stove. Since we were only spending the weekend there we had no use for the cooking facilities. Those staying more than 5 nights are able to cook if they wanted to. I do suppose they will be provided with the necessary pots and pans. We didn’t find out more about that. There is an electric kettle and coffee and tea is free and provided for. The hotel also provides bottled mineral water everyday of your stay.

There is cable TV in the living room but the channels are limited, but we brought along our hard drives and were watching our own shows in the evening. The master bedroom also comes with it’s own TV set.

The room came with breakfast that you can have in Cuisines, the restaurant by the pool. Kudos goes to the friendly Restaurant Manager, Miguel de Jan and his staff. They were very attentive, professional and helpful. We did noticed that the staff changed the serving spoons for the buffet on a regular basis, something you don’t really find waiters doing in regular five-star hotels. We though that was very professional and although not many people would think twice about it, we thought that it added a little class to their service. Used plates were removed from your table promptly and food was very quickly replenished, meaning guests did not have to wait for a fresh batch of yummy goodness.

The food was superb. They served both Western and local foods. I’ve been to many five-stay hotels both in Malaysia and abroad and I could never find a nice breakfast sausage that didn’t taste like it was made of rubber. But at The Haven, the sausages were actually pretty good. The mash potatoes were perfect as was the gravy. The local dishes were also good. There was fried noodles, nasi lemak, porridge and fried rice. As with all hotels in Malaysia, there is no pork served.

A little detail that many might not appreciate is that Cuisines has the sensibility to have the egg station (where you can order your freshly cook eggs) outside their indoor dining area. Many hotels and resorts have this indoors and really it’s not fun having your breakfast in an air conditioned room that smells of eggs being cooked.

The room service menu for The Haven is expensive. About RM17 for a cheese sandwich is a little much, but really why would you eat in the hotel when there’s plenty of really nice and inexpensive food just a couple of miles away.

The only draw back to The Haven is if you don’t have a car, it’s pretty hard to get around. I suppose you could have the hotel get you a cab or even get you a car for rent. We didn’t check if they had transportation services for tourists, but The Haven is about a half hour drive to the middle of Ipoh town.

There are some shops at the main entrance of The Haven but it’s quite a walk from the apartments. The Giant hypermart, McDonalds and other eateries are about 1.5km from the apartments.

The swimming pool in The Haven is just unbelievable. It’s not very deep, about 120m but the water is cool and inviting. Make sure you bring proper swimming attire, no shorts and t-shirts allowed in the pool, as it should be, I believe.

If you’re coming from Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh is about a three hour drive, and you can stop along the way in places like Tanjung Malim, Gopeng, Teluk Intan and Kampar to have meals. Ipoh itself has really great food. The Haven is about a half hour drive from Ipoh town. It’s very near the Tambun waterpark and The Banjaran.

We love this place so much we’re already planning a visit back in July! The Haven is truly a Haven. A good stay. Great facilities. Helpful and friendly staff. I hope you’ll remain like this for many many many years to come.

Due to my own mistake, I had trouble with my original booking. I called up and Front Office staff, Dinash was kind enough to bring up the issue which was promptly resolved by Front Office Operations Manager, Miss Rebecca Ho. Upon arrival, I was nicely surprised with an upgrade of the apartment with fantastic view of the pool and limestone. At night, the view was even more tranquil and my mum especially enjoyed sitting out at the balcony for the cool breeze and serenity of the premises. The air was cool and crisp and you could hear the chirping of birds in the morning and cheeping of insects at night.
The staff at the Hotel was warm and friendly. Miguel, the F&B manager is so friendly that one would have thought that he is a tour manager! I got the feeling that the staff at the Hotel must have been pretty happy as they are supporting their hotel relentlessly.
Overall, a very good option to stay in Ipoh, especially great for multi-generational families who can all stay in one big apartment and enjoy a good break.

It’s Def a place to get away from work or the city life. It felt just like home but yet the stay was comfortable although it was a different bed. The kids loved the place and didn’t want to leave. Swimming pool had a warm temperature which I loved.

The lake view is beautiful, especially so at night with the lighting. My kids loved the pool and the playgrounds (outdoor and indoor). A children friendly place indeed. Remote controls for air cons should be checked from time to time to ensure functionality. A nice place for relaxation.

Desperate for a retreat, my friend and I decided to flew into Ipoh last weekend for a short getaway! I am glad we made the decision to do that because Haven was so beautiful, I wish I never had to leave the place! Right at our balcony was the breath-taking scenery of Haven’s landscape – the “iconic” rock, the trees…

We had a unit facing the limestone hills and lake. It’s clean and comfortable. The view of nature is simply breathtaking. The pool is big and the view again, is amazing. There’s also a children’s pool with slide. It’s a very relaxing walk around the lake, surrounded by fresh air and beautiful greenery. Hearing the birds chirping has a calming…

It was a peaceful and enjoyable stay. I did wish for a spa to disappear to because my toddler son was having so much fun at the gorgeous pool and exploring the grounds with dad. Great place for a family getaway or a get together with friends. The restaurant had a nice selection of dishes that were of decent quality.
